Love Monster teams up with Comic Relief

Love Monster, the lovable, huggable star of CBeebies’ quirky animated adventure series for pre-schoolers, is teaming up with Comic Relief to help raise money for Red Nose Day 2022. 

The collaboration will see the one-of-a-kind, heart-warming hero feature on the Red Nose Day early years fundraising packs. Red Nose Day takes place on Friday, March 18, 2022. Tying in with Love Monster’s love of DJing and partying with the residents of Fluffytown, the pack has a festival theme and contains everything young fundraisers need to giggle, raise money and help change lives. It explains the background to Red Nose Day, gives lots of great ideas and tips for nursery fundraising activities and provides helpful information such as sponsorship forms and how to submit donations.

In addition to a host of fun activities, this year Comic Relief is also producing a range of bespoke mental health learning resources for nurseries., The resources will support early years practitioners increase awareness with young children around mental health and how to explore emotions. A range of real-life case studies will also be made available to help practitioners demonstrate to children how their fundraising efforts can make a difference to the lives of others. 

This reflects the values and messages of Love Monster, which helps pre-schoolers understand and manage different emotions and showcases the importance of kindness, empathy, connection and instinct.

The much-loved children’s character and his Fluffytown friends will help bring our fundraising ideas and learning resources to life and engage our youngest supporters in a fun, accessible and interactive way. We’re excited to launch the packs and mental health learning materials early next year, to help more young children learn about important issues whilst also having fun.”

This really is a wonderful collaboration and we are proud to be involved.”

The pack will be available to download from comicrelief.com/rednoseday in January 2022 and will be shared with thousands of nurseries across the country.

Love Monster, based on the wonderfully warm and witty, award-winning pre-school books by Rachel Bright, launched on CBeebies in January 2020, where it proved an instant hit. The series follows the colourful and funny exploits of one-of-a-kind, huggable hero Love Monster as he navigates the challenges involved in being a bit funny looking in a world of cute fluffy things.  Every day has a specific purpose in Fluffytown, it could be Sharing with Others Day, Plant a Seed Day or Topsy Turvy Day, and Love Monster and the rest of the cute community join forces to make the most of every minute of the special occasion.  

Love Monster is a collaboration between BBC Children’s in-house Productions, Boat Rocker Studios and UYoung, Love Monster is exec produced by Tony Reed for the BBC, Chapman Maddox for Boat Rocker and James Chen Gu for UYoung.
