And the winners are…
The winners of The B&LLAs 2022 (Brand and Lifestyle Licensing Awards) industry awards were announced yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 27 April) at a glittering event held at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London.
Hosted by Ed Gamble, the B&LLAs were attended by 400 retailers, licensees and brand owners who shared in the joy as the worthy winners made their way to the stage to collect their trophies. Organised by Max Publishing, Ian Hyder and Jackie Brown spoke of their delight that the event was back in its traditional spring slot and welcomed the brand licensing industry being back together.
The guests were also treated to an appearance to the team from the Light Fund, who will be undertaking the very gruelling Channel Swim Relay in hopes of raising record-breaking funds for the industry charity. Dressed in some of the gear they will be wearing on this most challenging of challenges, including dry robes and goggles, Stephen Gould ran the audience through some of the difficulties the team will face, including spring tides, an example of the roar of the ocean and sea-sickess.
The English Channel at it’s narrowest point is 21 miles, however, with at least 3 if not 4 tidal shifts to contend with the distance swum may be nearer to 40 miles. The swim will commence in Dover and will hopefully finish up somewhere on the French coast between Calais and Boulogne. They are the No.1 slot on a Spring tide in the date window of 30th June to 3rd July 2022.
