Animaj Expands Licensing Deals and Introduces New Character for Pocoyo
Following its acquisition of the iconic Spanish IP Pocoyo in June 2023, Animaj is excited to announce a series of new licensing deals that expand Pocoyo’s presence across key territories. As part of its efforts to revitalize and expand the reach of the brand, Animaj is also introducing an exciting new character, Bea, Pocoyo’s little sister. These developments mark a significant step in the evolution of Pocoyo, highlighting its enduring popularity and the brand’s dynamic future.

 Strategic Digital and Broadcast InitiativesAs part of its innovative approach, Animaj leverages cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate the production of new Pocoyo content. These tools allow Animaj to release a new season every 12-18 months, ensuring a steady flow of fresh content for both traditional television and premium streaming services, while maintaining high production quality. On the digital side, Animaj produces 100+ minutes of ‘’made-for-YouTube’ original content annually. This digital-first strategy enables the company to regularly engage with the 400+ million children who access YouTube each month, offering them differentiated, fun, and educational programming tailored to their needs. Season 5 of Pocoyo has launched, with the first batch of episodes now available, maintaining the show’s classic charm. The second batch, featuring new characters and captivating adventures, will be released in Q2 2025. Season 5  has already convinced significant broadcasters and streaming services, including Cartoonito and Max in LATAM, Prime Video in Spain and Portugal, Clan TVE (Spain), Rai Yoyo (Italy), TFO (Canada), TV2 (Hungary),and many more.
 New Character Reveal
With the launch of Season 5, Animaj is introducing Bea, Pocoyo’s little sister. Bea is an adorable, unstoppable, and chaotic addition to the group, quickly shaking up the dynamics between the characters. Pocoyo, now a big brother, is constantly bothered by his younger sister but also incredibly protective of her.

This season also marks a significant milestone in Pocoyo’s growth – Pocoyo is finally speaking as part of his character’s aging up. This exciting development enriches his interactions with the other characters, adding depth to the storytelling and engaging fans in new ways.

Season 5 also welcomes back the legendary Stephen Fry as the narrator for Pocoyo. The acclaimed British actor and comedian, who narrated the show’s first two seasons, is returning to reprise his iconic role.
