Tabitha Brown Announces Debut Picture Book with HarperCollins Children’s Books

HarperCollins Children’s Books announced the publication of HELLO THERE, SUNSHINE by EMMY Award–winning host of Tab Time and multiple NAACP award winner, #1 New York Times bestselling author, and vegan food star Tabitha Brown, illustrated by Olivia Duchess.

Inspired by Tabitha’s childhood adventures, this book pays homage to the community and neighborhood that have influenced who she is today. Brown says, “My mom always taught me that helping others makes us feel good! The light inside of us all shines and I hope this book reminds every child that they are their own sunshine!”

With themes of kindness, curiosity, and joy, HELLO THERE, SUNSHINE follows young Tabitha, who wakes up ready to greet the sun but gets a little worried when she realizes it’s missing. Not one to dwell on the negative, Tabitha embarks on an adventure through her neighborhood, lending a helping hand and asking everyone if they’ve seen the big star. When the sun is still nowhere to be found, Tabitha remains positive, looks a little deeper, and finds the sun in the most unlikely place.

“What an honor to illustrate Tabitha’s first picture book,” says Duchess. “She’s an inspiration to many and this story is an important one that tells of perseverance and confidence.”

Editorial Director Luana Kay Horry adds, “I’ve long admired Tabitha Brown and her ability to inspire and empower people to be true to themselves. I am excited for Tabitha to bring her signature sunshine personality to children in a whole new way.”

North American rights were sold to Horry from Cindy Uh at CAA.
