The Brand Department signs The Doodle Boy to expand his licensing offering

Joe Whale, The Doodle Boy, is a 15-year-old illustrator who is taking the world by storm with his unique

doodle and cartoon style. Celebrated for his imaginative creations, Joe draws inspiration from many

sources with artwork including food, monsters and aliens. His creative philosophy is encapsulated by his

single design rule, “there is no right or wrong in art, just interpretation”.

In his short but awe-inspiring career, Joe has collaborated with several global brands, including Nike,

Disney, Marks & Spencer, The FA and even the UK Royal Family.

Licenses have followed; Joe’s 5-part colouring book series, Bad Food, with Scholastic which is available

in major bookstores across the US and UK has sold 500k copies, and his recent children’s clothing range

with M&S sold through in under 3 months..

The Brand Department are now looking to expand The Doodle Boy’s licensing programme further, with

a particular focus on fashion, accessories and footwear, back-to-school, stationery, home interiors, and

brand collaborations. Please contact The Brand Department for more information.

Based in the UK, Joe is passionate about art, in particular his signature Doodle and Cartoon style. Since

beginning drawing and painting at the age of three, art has continued to play a significant part in his life,

picking up a pen or paint brush at every opportunity.
