MICHAEL PEIKOFF LAUNCHES FIRST BOOK: “A SMART MAN WOULDN’T HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT”

WITH MEMORABLE QUIPS FROM HIS LATE FATHER ELLIOT

Book Illustrated by Legendary Looney Tunes Character Artist Fred Bode

Michael Peikoff, a long-time licensing and entertainment veteran having worked at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Sony Pictures Consumer Products, 20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising and the FOX Broadcasting Company, has launched his first book.   Entitled “A Smart Man Wouldn’t Have Thought of That,” is a book about his late father Elliot’s regular musings that have been known through the entertainment industry.  The book has been published by Kent Press and is available now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

“Some people are fortunate enough to have a father who is — or was— their best friend. Elliot was my hero and my closest friend who inspired me with his integrity and humanity. He was born with a razor-sharp wit which served as a catalyst for his peerless success as a salesman,” said Peikoff. “Writing this book about his many chucklesome quips was a great labor-of-love for me.”

“A Smart Man Wouldn’t Have Thought About That” is a 35-page book filled with treasured quips and “knee slappers” called “Elliotism’s” from Peikoff’s late father, including, “I’m working on so many deals I don’t know which is gonna fall through first,” “How many people do you have working for you Elliot? … ‘About HALF of them,” and “Business is looking up, if you happen to be lying on your back.”

The book was illustrated by the legendary Looney Tunes artist Fred Bode who captures the humor in his illustrations and brings them to life.

Industry vets are applauding Peikoff, writing:

  • “Michael worked for me at Warner Bros. where I heard my first “Elliotism.” Elliotism’s were and remains a wonderful way for me to entertain and joust colleagues who direct a statement to you that they believe will resonate.  Elliot was one man I wish I could have met but I feel like I have. I know readers will love this book as much as I did.”

–Dan Romanelli, Founder and Former Worldwide President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products

  • “As a teenage friend of the author, I had a front row seat to hundreds of rapid-fire ‘Elliotism’s.’ But it was only after decades in business that I could appreciate Elliot’s gift for the perfect, ironic one-liner. If you are in the world of sales, when you read this collection — and you will over and over again — you will both laugh and wince as you relate to every word.”

David Grant, Co-Founder, Favored Live Inc., former President, Fox TV Studios

  • “The ultimate business humor book filled with sardonic and witty quips from a true road warrior, Elliot, brought to life by renowned Looney Tunes character artist, Fred Bode. He perfectly captures the irreverent humor of each situation with drawings reminiscent of the days around the water cooler at the office.  Whether you are working in a cubicle or working remote…you will laugh out loud at these twisted lines and clever illustrations!”

— Karen Mctier, Former Warner Bros EVP Global Consumer Products

  • “For anyone involved in sales or business, these masterful truisms get your point across, while always bringing smiles all around. I’ve been quoting “Elliotism’s” for so long, if Peikoff was charging royalties, by now I would have bought him a house. Great fun!”

— Peter Van Raalte, Managing Partner, Browne, Gordon & Van Raalte, LLC.

The print edition is available now for $12.95 on Amazon and on Barnes & Noble.  Review copies are available upon request.
