NEW SERIES OF BLUEY BOOK READS

BBC Studios Digital Brands together with BBC Studios Kids & Family and Ludo Studio have revealed that the second digital series of Bluey Book Reads has launched.

The new batch of the award-winning digital series, commissioned by BBC Studios Digital Brands, once again brings to life many of the beloved Bluey storybooks, published by BBC Studios’ master publishing licensee Penguin Random House, like never before. Bluey is published by Ladybird in the UK, part of Penguin Random House Children’s UK. In the US, Bluey is published by Penguin Young Readers Licenses, part of Penguin Random House LLC. 

The second series of the 12 x 5 digital original kicks off with the beloved Muppets of Sesame Street Elmo & Cookie Monster teaming up for a retelling of ‘What Games Should We Play?’, the digital series’ first-ever real life read, where you can see Elmo & Cookie Monster read the book on screen.

The full stellar lineup of off-screen readers also includes: acclaimed British actress Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown) reading ‘Queens’; celebrated Welsh actor, Michael Sheen, (Good Omens) narrating ‘Road Trip’; and Australian actress and the voice of Bluey’s aunt Brandy, Rose Byrne, (Bridesmaids) delivering a heartfelt rendition of ‘Baby Race’. 

Hollywood actor Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) reads ‘The Pool’. The Tony award-winning British actress Sophie Okonedo (The Secret Life of Bees) brings her soothing tones to ‘Sleepytime’. Australian gold medallist Paralympian, Kurt Fearnley, offers an engaging take on ‘Camping’. Australian musician and songwriter Meg Washington – also the voice of Calypso in Bluey – captivates audiences with her reading of ‘Bob Bilby’. Plus, American actress and the voice on Moana, Auli’i Cravalho, enchants listeners with ‘Shadowlands’.

Bluey Book Reads Series 2 is bringing even more Bluey storybooks to international audiences too, with an exciting lineup of foreign language narrations in German, French and Korean.

Acclaimed actress Diane Kruger (Troy) reads ‘Camping’ and ‘The Creek’ in German, marking the first-ever Bluey Book Reads’ content to premiere on the localised German Bluey YouTube channel, Deutsch Offizieller Kanal. Celebrated French actress Camille Cottin (House of Gucci) also returns for her second Bluey Book Read in French with ‘Camping’ for Bluey – Français Chaîne Officielle. Cottin previously narrated Bluey’s first foreign-language book read, ‘The Beach’, which went live in June 2024. Adding to the series’ global expansion, the first-ever Korean Bluey Book Read narrated by Han Ga-In (Mistress) premiered on the official Korean Bluey YouTube channel in October 2024.

Bluey Book Reads combines off-screen narration from global talent with visuals from Bluey storybooks and live action shots. The digital original series offers fans a new way to experience their favourite Bluey storybooks, based on episodes as-seen on the global hit TV sensation, Bluey, written and created by Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio. All the Bluey stories featured in the Bluey Book Reads series are published by BBC Studios’ master publishing licensee Penguin Random House. 

The hugely successful first series of Bluey Book Reads, which launched in February 2024 and has generated over 75 million views to date also featured several icons, such as Kylie Minogue, Romesh Ranganathan and Eva Mendes. 

The digital-first series won a Lovie Award in 2024 and was also awarded Best Web/App – Branded Series at the 2025 Kidscreen AwardsOfficial Bluey YouTube was recently presented with a prestigious Diamond Creator Award from YouTube for reaching an incredible 10 million subscribers. Official Bluey YouTube, which has over 7.5 billion lifetime views, was also recognised at the 2025 Kidscreen Awards for Best YouTube Channel.
