New President for KIDZ BOP

Concord Chief Label Executive Tom Whalley has announced that Sasha Junk has been appointed to President of KIDZ BOP. She will be based in KIDZ BOP’s New York City Offices and will report directly to Whalley. 

The new appointment comes at an exciting time for the brand as KIDZ BOP will celebrate its milestone 20th Birthday in 2021. Sasha will lead the brand, along with the global KIDZ BOP team, into its 20th anniversary with a year-long celebration, including new album releases, video collaborations, brand partnerships & activations and the expansion of the popular music franchise into the rest of Europe and Latin America.

 Junk succeeds former KIDZ BOP President Victor Zaraya who was recently elevated to Chief Revenue Officer at Concord.

Before joining KIDZ BOP in 2009, Junk was the Global Head of Publicity at Classic Media (now part of DreamWorks Animation). Since making the move to KIDZ BOP, Junk has helped to cement the brand as a true pop culture phenomenon. Under her leadership, the KIDZ BOP Kids have been named Billboard Magazine’s “#1 Kids’ Artist” for ten consecutive years (2010-2019). The brand has generated more than 4.5 Billion streams and is nearing two million YouTube subscribers. Junk spearheaded major brand alliances which have given KIDZ BOP the chance to reach new audiences, including the first-ever KIDZ BOP Experience at Hard Rock Resorts, as well as partnerships with Mattel, Subway and Dollar Car Rental.Junk oversaw KIDZ BOP’s national marketing campaigns for their live tours in conjunction with Live Nation, playing 50+ cities and reaching more than 250,000 fans annually. Most recently, the Billboard Women In Music honoree assisted in expanding the brand internationally in the UK and Germany, with combined sales of over 350,000 albums since launch.
