Chuggington Adventure Depot debuts at Herschend’s Silver Dollar City theme park

Herschend Entertainment Studios has announced it is expanding its popular “Chuggington” franchise with its first, live immersive theme park attraction, Chuggington Adventure Depot at Silver Dollar City, the internationally awarded theme park located in Branson, MO.  Guests of all ages can fully take part in the new immersive and interactive adventure. The expansion brings the popular animated series to life like never before for its preschool-age fans with the show’s favorite characters, locations and more.  The all-new Chuggington experience is live through the Summer.  Created more than 60-years-ago, Silver Dollar City is the founding flagship park created by the Herschend family.

Silver Dollar City is the perfect home for the true-life version of the “Chuggington” series according to Keith Dawkins, President of Harlem Globetrotters and Herschend Entertainment Studios. “The Chuggington Adventure Depot at Silver Dollar City allows us the opportunity to leverage not only the power of the Chuggington franchise, but also the scale and influence of Silver Dollar City to reach kids and families in new and exciting ways.  This strategic collaboration across our enterprise illustrates the kind of powerful opportunities that we can create for our audience, our businesses, and our partners.”

“For over 6 decades, Silver Dollar City has entertained families, including even the youngest of children. In addition to all of our rides and attractions which small kids can enjoy this summer, our National Kids Fest will be even more fun with the addition of the unique, and first-of-its-kind Chuggington experience. To energize train-loving kids even more, families can leave the Chuggington Adventure Depot and head over to our authentic steam train to take a ride around The City,” said Brad Thomas, President and General Manager of Silver Dollar City Attractions.

The Chuggington Adventure Depot allows young park guests to step into their very own trainee Chugger, chosen from the modern and colorful fleet of train engines. Led by a lively ‘Conductor’, the adventure guides kids through exploratory fun as a free-play, wall-to-wall re-creation of the world of Chuggington. Preschoolers will meet and dance along with their Chugger friends like Wilson, Koko, and Brewster and explore favorite Chuggington locales including The Roundhouse, The Ice Cream Factory & The Repair Shed from the popular, global series. An adaptive mobility Chugger train that is ADA compliant helps meet the needs of all young guests to fully participate in the immersive environment.  Custom Chuggington merchandise, Chuggington toys from Alpha Group US and social media-worthy photo experiences round out the touring experience.

Produced and distributed globally by Herschend Entertainment Studios, “Chuggington” explores the traintastic world of a modern and colorful fleet of train engines. The series follows the adventures of three young trainee engines: the eager Wilson, the daring Koko, and the loyal Brewster, all of whom are learning to ride the rails of life. The young trio of locomotives engage with a relatable cast of diverse characters learning important lessons of teamwork, friendships, and fun.  “Chuggington” is currently airing on A-list broadcast networks and key streaming platforms in over 100 countries.  Preschoolers in the U.S. can view the show on Hulu, DisneyNOW and YouTube, where it has registered more than a billion global views and has more than 1.3 million subscribers on its U.S. channel.
