Dwell with Dignity and Crayola
Dallas-based, non-profit Dwell with Dignity and Crayola LLC have collaborated to amplify messages of hope, empathy, positive thinking, and love with inspiration from the creativity icon’s Colors of Kindness initiative.
Dwell with Dignity transforms lives by providing interiors for family homes and community spaces bringing positive change and dignity and altering the trajectory of those in need. The collaboration focused on supporting the nonprofit’s six-week-long, annual Thrift Studio<https://dwellwithdignity.org/pages/thrift-studio> fundraiser—which combines interior design, retail, and philanthropy— in the vibrant Dallas Design District. Throughout the event, which ends this week, kids and kids at heart were invited to spend some time at the Crayola Color of Kindness Corner where they could add their colorful mark on a kindness wall. The wall highlighted motivational phrases from Crayola’s Colors of Kindness crayon line—such as Be Sweet to Each Other, Rise Above, and A Slice of Nice—to encourage positive interactions and motivate acts of kindness and compassion. The space also featured supporting product.
In addition, Crayola Colors of Kindness inspired two of the Thrift Studio room vignettes that were created by designers from sourced and donated furniture, artwork, and home decor items for guests to shop.
Crayola’s Colors of Kindness initiative originated through a Crayola insights study in which, parents listed kindness as the most important trait they wanted their child to develop. “Crayola Colors of Kindness products and licensed merchandise are intentionally designed to amplify the conversation around positive self-talk and help parents and teachers raise creatively alive kids that know how to lead with positive intention,” said Warren Schorr, Crayola Senior Vice President, Business Development, Global Licensing and Experiences.
“We are always looking for meaningful ways to extend the Crayola brand, which this colorful collaboration does as Dwell with Dignity’s mission embodies the Colors of Kindness message by empowering people to become the best of themselves,” Schorr continued. “A bonus is that the Dallas market is also home to one of our Crayola Experience attractions where we spark the imagination and celebrate the colorful originality of every child.”
“As a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives by providing beautiful living spaces for those in need, we firmly believe in the power of color to inspire impeccable design,” stated Ashley Sharp, Executive Director at Dwell with Dignity. “Color has the remarkable ability to evoke a sense of well-being, peace, and comfort – precisely what we strive to provide for the families and communities we serve,” stated Ashley Sharp, Executive Director at Dwell with Dignity. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Crayola for their invaluable partnership and unwavering support in our mission to create dignified interiors for family residences and community spaces.”
