Eleanor Tomlinson & Andrew Eborn, Octopus TV Reveal Coronation Launch

Eleanor Tomlinson & Andrew Eborn, Octopus TV Reveal Coronation Launch

Eleanor’s much anticipated artwork dedicated to celebrating His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation with a special launch event at Freemasons Hall, London.

‘Coronation Capers’, launched at 6:05am Tuesday 21st February, is the latest in the royal series of work by globally known artist and illustrator Eleanor Tomlinson. Measuring over 63x43cm, the ink and watercolour artwork is one of her biggest, boldest and most elaborate yet.

‘Coronation Capers’ is shared with the public and her thousands of followers on social media only months after her worldwide success of ‘Jubilee Ma’amalade Tea’ created last June following Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and ‘Our Beloved Queen’, which was a tribute piece only created in the wake of HM sad passing. Before the artist created a one-off original piece especially for a children’s charity, the artwork featuring Emma the pony and the Queen’s two corgis reached £32,000 at the charity auction.

The big reveal of the celebratory artwork, ‘Coronation Capers’, comes ahead of the artist’s eagerly anticipated new collection launch in just over a month’s time. ‘Coronation Capers’ will form the main basis of ‘The Coronation Collection’, made up of signed limited edition prints, open edition prints, stationery, gifts, homeware and other products.

The newly revealed piece is set from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, with a backdrop of The Queen Victoria Memorial, cheering crowds, parades and the skyline of London. The alternative view of the infamous Buckingham Palace balcony, The Mall and London is overwhelmed by the artist’s quirky addition of Jack Russells, King Charles Cavaliers and Corgis. A fun and amusing take on what will be the day’s events and key figures come May 6th 2023. Amongst this fun scene are many smaller, subtle, symbolic additions purposely placed by Eleanor to include certain Royal family members no longer with us and the past events of last year within the artwork.

Eleanor pointed out “ ‘Coronation Capers’ celebrates the coronation of King Charles III with a fun, quirky and British twist featuring King Charles Cavaliers, Jack Russells, Corgis and bunting, all set upon the Buckingham Palace balcony overlooking The Mall, crowds and a skyline of London. Following on from my much-loved royal related pieces in 2022, I have wanted to create something very special for this once in a lifetime occasion that captures everything ‘Best of British’ in one joyful and very patriotic artwork. I only hope the public and Royal Family enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the process of creating it.”

Eleanor is an award-winning artist and illustrator based near South Cave, East Yorkshire, UK. She has been selling her artworks and taking on commissions since her mid-teens. Working predominantly in ink and watercolour, her work has always been inspired by her home amongst the Yorkshire countryside and the animals and rural life which surrounds her. Three years after graduating from York St Johns University with a First Class honours degree in Illustration, Eleanor became globally known for creating a piece of art for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum jubilee known as ‘Jubilee Ma’amalade Tea’.  Later that year, other tribute pieces produced following HM Queen Elizabeth’s sad passing achieved similar recognition. Eleanor has developed these original pieces into greetings cards, stationery, print, homeware ranges and other products. A serendipitous meeting, brought about by a BBC Platinum Jubilee news story, has resulted in renowned international lawyer, strategic business adviser and broadcaster, Andrew Eborn, President of Octopus TV Ltd, working with Eleanor to maximise international opportunities and develop a global brand.

For many years Andrew Eborn has empowered companies to face the challenges of changing markets, maximise the return on their rights as well as assisting with the strategic development of their businesses.

Eleanor pointed out “I am very excited at even the thought of the possible opportunities being created as a result of my partnership with Andrew Eborn. What started as a wonderful introduction by the BBC has already turned into a strong creative partnership. I’m very grateful to the BBC for opening such a door into a world of new opportunities with Andrew especially at a time when I was at a loss as to where to turn having suffered artwork theft on a global level. 2022 was an incredible, rollercoaster year in my career, but 2023 is already proving to be something else as Andrew and I join forces to share even more of my artwork with the world, entering into fabulous collaborations with leading world names. Andrew and I make a formidable team – an artist’s dream.’

Andrew Eborn, who has been instrumental in growing many major brands commented “I am thrilled to be working with Eleanor reviewing the various opportunities including from international licensing. Together we intend to develop a global brand, building on the success of Eleanor’s work to date, whilst protecting Eleanor’s artistic rights and integrity. I very much look forward to hearing from anyone interested in exploring the exciting licensing opportunities.”
