Jennifer Oppenheimer appointed as International Sales and Licensing Manager at Guru
Animation powerhouse Guru Studio announces the expansion of its sales team with the appointment of Jennifer Oppenheimer as International Sales and Licensing Manager.
The new hire comes as the studio continues to grow its roster of original IP as well as its global distribution and licensing division, including new third-party acquisitions.
Reporting to the Senior Director of International Sales Corey Caplan, Jennifer will be managing content and licensing sales for Guru’s distribution properties, including True and the Rainbow Kingdom, Big Blue, Pikwik Pack and the newly acquired preschool series 123 Number Squad launching on Sky Kids in the UK this year. Jennifer will also be leading the company’s sales in Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe, as well as global AVOD.
“Jennifer’s wealth of knowledge and broad international sales experience is going to be a tremendous asset to our team,” said Corey Caplan, Senior Director of International Sales. “She’s already hit the ground running ahead of what will be a busy and exciting Kidscreen Summit.”
Prior to joining Guru, Jennifer served as Sales Manager at Wildbrain where she managed content partnerships across Asia Pacific, US Digital, and Global Home Entertainment. Previously, Jennifer also worked at Boat Rocker Media in their scripted development and production divisions.
The company is also pleased to announce today that long time creative executive Dave Padbury will be expanding his remit at Guru Studio to oversee the company’s growing roster of new original IP. Reporting to Frank Falcone, Guru’s
President and Executive Creative Director, Dave will continue to work closely with senior leadership to foster new creative partnerships and co-productions. Since joining Guru in 2013, Dave has spearheaded creative development on many of Guru Studio’s hit shows including True and the Rainbow Kingdom, Pikwik Pack and Big Blue. Rachel Marcus will be stepping away from her role as VP of Development, but will continue to consult for the studio on a variety of projects in development.
Guru Studio returns to Kidscreen Summit next month with an incredible lineup of new original IP and acquisitions, including the recently announced Scoops, a new animated educational comedy series being developed with the support of TIME Studios’ Kids & Family division, and Ora Chroniclesthe serialized action adventure series together with Japan-based ADK Emotions.
Guru Studio was also recently named Kids Production Company of the Year by Playback.
