Sweden-based Live Brands Factory AB today announced a partnership with Rovio Entertainment to launch a collection of Angry Birds soda, ice cream and cake products in the Swedish market, in a deal facilitated by Angry Birds’ global licensing agency IMG.
The collection will be launched in the upcoming weeks through Dagab, the assortment, purchasing and logistics support company for Swedish food retail giant Axfood Group. It will be available for purchase in Axfood Group’s retail chains across the country including Willys, Hemköp, Tempo and City Gross.
The initial launch will include a selection of soft drinks called Red (raspberry), Chuck (pear) and Piggy (watermelon), with the name and appearance of each flavor representing popular Angry Birds characters. Additionally, there will be two new ice cream flavours, Red (orange) and Bomb (cola), which will be sold together in large packs. Lastly, the launch will include a chocolate cake, called Angry Birds, which consists of crispy wafers covered in milk chocolate.
“We are thrilled to partner with Axfood/Dagab and Live Brands Factory AB to bring the Angry Birds brand to life in a new and delicious way for our Swedish fans,” says Katri Chacona, Director of Brand Licensing at Rovio.
Live Brands Factory have previously launched successful collaborations with Sweden Rock Festival and Marshall among others. The latest collaboration with the popular gaming brand is an important addition to the company’s portfolio, showcasing its breadth and ability to work with all kinds of edible and drinkable products.
Over five billion downloads, 25+ million social media followers, and 96% brand awareness make Angry Birds a timeless favourite for fans. Launched in 2009 as a popular mobile game, the brand has since evolved into a globally-recognised media franchise, spanning various entertainment and consumer products, including a live touring show, a long-form Netflix series and a location-based, immersive gaming experience.
