LMG Secures Harvard Deals Across China, Hong Kong and Kore

Licensing Matters Global, the full-service international licensing agency, has secured a new partnership across mainland China, Hong Kong and Korea for their client the University of Harvard, a member of the Ivy League.   The agreement with young adult, kids and families fashion brand, GU, will deliver a Harvard apparel range across the territory.

The Fall ’22 and Winter ‘23 collection, which launched in December, comprises 15+ SKUs and includes a sweat hoodie, sweat dress, padded varsity jacket, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hoodies and pullovers with RRPs ranging from $13.50 USD to $47.50 USD.  The range is on-sale both online and offline in GU’s shops across the region. GU are supporting the launch with marketing campaigns across Instagram, and their website and e-commerce App.  An additional Spring-Summer ’23 collection will launch in earlyQ1 2023.

Brokered by Licensing Matters’ Asia team, the new agreement with GU is a second partnership with Fast Retailing Co., the sister brand of Uniqlo who first launched a range of apparel lines in Summer 22.

Andrew Kwan, EVP at Licensing Matters comments: “As we anticipated, The Ivy League has resonated strongly with the fashion-focused Asian audience who embrace institutions that symbolise long-standing American culture.  GU is a perfect partner with its tailored and on-trend collections which align with licensed brands, such as Harvard.  We are thrilled to have secured a new, second agreement, with Fast Retailing Co. and, based on the current success of the AW range, look forward to the Harvard University summer collection this Spring.”
