Mattel Promotes PJ Lewis to Senior Vice President, Global Head of Action Figures and Fisher-Price Entertainment

Mattel, Inc. has promoted PJ Lewis to Senior Vice President, Global Head of Action Figures and Fisher-Price Entertainment.  It was announced today by Mattel Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, Lisa McKnight to whom Lewis reports. Lewis is taking on an expanded role as Executive Lead for Action Figures and Fisher-Price Entertainment, including management of Action Figures, Plush and Preschool Entertainment, inclusive of Barney and Imaginext. 

“Throughout his 18 years at Mattel, PJ has demonstrated strong leadership, with a proven track record for delivering results,” said McKnight. “I look forward to PJ’s visionary expertise that will continue to support Mattel’s ongoing evolution, bolster innovation, amplify creativity, and leverage synergies across these categories.” 

During his career at Mattel, Lewis has created the strategy for some of the world’s most visible consumer products franchises, such as leading the Monster High global franchise from $400 million to over a $1 billion in retail sales and forging industry partnerships which include Disney-Pixar, WWE, Universal, and more. Lewis has spearheaded the global Action Figure and Plush portfolios which include products from Masters of the Universe and Jurassic World, as well as driving the action figure business to a record high in 2022. Lewis has led several firsts throughout his time at Mattel including winning the licenses to launch businesses on WWE, Minecraft, and the rights to the TOTY award-winning launch of Grogu “Baby Yoda” on behalf of Lucasfilm, the #1 Plush release in Mattel history.

Prior to this role, Lewis served the company through various capacities, including leading the Games category team, in the North America marketing organization, and in Corporate Development.  

Prior to Mattel, Lewis worked in the Strategic Planning group for Fox Filmed Entertainment and started his career in finance in New York.  Lewis is a proud board member of the Mattel Children’s Foundation and serves on the Corporate Partnerships Council of Save the Children representing Mattel.   

Lewis has an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
