MEDIACORP AND MOONBUG BRING SINGAPORE TWIST TO BLIPPI

Singapore’s national media network, Mediacorp and Moonbug Entertainment have unveiled plans for a first-ever Singapore edition of popular kids’ educational series Blippi. Announced at the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) today, the new localised version of Blippi will see the beloved eponymous character take young viewers on learning adventures around Singapore while exploring the sights and sounds of the city-state.

The international version of Blippi has been massively popular among young viewers in Singapore, having garnered an impressive 36.1 million views with a total watch time of 243 million minutes to date. Globally, the show has also earned a spot on Netflix’s Top 10-performing kid’s series, solidifying its status as one of the most popular live-action preschool brands worldwide.

Slated for release in July 2025, the Singapore edition will pan out over 20 episodes, with each episode spanning 11-minutes. Clayton Grimm, who currently plays the effervescent character of Blippi in the US, will helm the new series, which will stay true to the show’s focus on people, places, and learning, while incorporating uniquely Singapore elements and featuring special guest appearances by local celebrities.

Lee Hung Sheng, Head of Audience & Partnerships, Mediacorp, said, “We are committed to engaging all our viewers – young and old – with quality, family-friendly programming like Blippi, which has become a global favourite among children for its fun and lively exploration of a wide range of educational topics. With this new Singapore edition of the show, we are excited to work with Moonbug Entertainment again to create an even more engaging and contextualised version of Blippi that is closer to the hearts of local audiences.”

“We are thrilled to expand our collaboration with Mediacorp, they are an excellent partner,” says Yasmin Zahid, Head of Distribution APAC for Moonbug, “We know families in Singapore and across Asia love Blippi, and we can’t wait to give them a chance to see their own world reflected back to them through the curious eyes of Blippi.”

This collaboration builds on a content deal inked between Mediacorp and Moonbug Entertainment in May 2023 for close to 80 hours of children’s programming – including Blippi – to be delivered via Mediacorp’s digital video platform mewatch and free-to-air TV channel okto on 5. The international version of Blippi is currently available on mewatch and okto on 5.
