Monty Python to Donate Tour Merchandise to Support Covid-19 Effort
Monty Python, the iconic, satirical British comedy troupe, in partnership with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s merchandise and brand management company, today announced a multi-recipient charity donation project, that will see three U.K. charity beneficiaries receive clothing and lifestyle items from the Monty Python Tour range.
With the social and economic impact of Covid-19 accelerating daily nationwide, the teams at Monty Python and Bravado have come together to offer their support to multiple charities across the UK. Aimed at helping two of the most vulnerable demographic groups, the initiative will support the homeless, and young.
The majority of stock will be donated to the Single Homeless Project (SHP), an independent charity that works with single people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness in London.
“We have approximately 500 rough sleepers and residents across our eight hotels. This donation will let those staying or isolating with us know that others are thinking of them at this difficult time”, commented a representative of SHP.
London’s Glass Door Homeless Charity will also receive a sizable donation, with all units of branded tea pots and cat plush toys solely going to Glasgow based children’s charity, Jeely Piece Club.
A parent supported by Jeely Piece Club, stated – “this has made my day. I have been in the house for all these weeks with a young child. He loves the cuddly toy and I will now go and make myself a cup of tea with a smile on my face”.
