Nelly Jelly’s back-to-school smartwatch with safety features

Nelly Jelly’s back-to-school smartwatch with safety features

As Gallup’s 2023 survey reveals, 38% of U.S. parents are increasingly worried about their child’s safety at school. At the same time, schools are racing to ban the usage of phones in classrooms, both in the U.S. and Europe. With strict school policies limiting mobile phone use, parents are seeking alternatives that offer peace of mind.

To address these concerns, Nelly Jellya number one kids’ brand in Lithuania (locally called Kakė Makė), has introduced a smartwatch with a two-way calling function, designed for kids. It’s meant to ensure safe communication during school hours.

The new gadget combines safety, connectivity, and fun, making it an ideal solution for parents and children navigating the back-to-school season.

Nelly Jelly is a curious 6-year-old girl who, along with her monster friends Jim and Jam, addresses common children’s problems while teaching emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills. The character gives a playful, fun aspect to the newly launched smartwatch.

The Nelly Jelly smartwatch, which launched in August with young users in mind, has a SIM card and supports 4G connectivity. It has real-time GPS tracking, an SOS button, and a simple interface allowing children to make and receive video calls and messages from pre-approved contacts. Children can also embellish the watch with fun accessories that are designed to spark imagination and enhance the fun.

The most important feature for parents is the app that tracks a child’s exact location and sets up geofences to alert a parent if they leave designated areas.

“As a mother, I understand the stress that comes with sending your child alone off to school or after-school activities or with leaving your child in a new school. It’s a challenging time for both parents and kids, and the need to stay connected is important,” says Simona Krasauskienė. “Our smartwatch with a calling function provides parents with peace of mind and offers children an engaging experience by enhancing safety and communication without contributing to endless screen time.”

The gadget fits into the broader trend of tech-based learning and safety solutions for children. As more parents look for ways to stay connected with their kids in an increasingly digital world, products like the Nelly Jelly smartwatch are becoming essential – unlike traditional smartphones that can cause distractions in the classroom.

“We recognize that technological innovations bring both benefits and challenges, but it’s clear that parents need to stay connected with their children without disrupting valuable learning time. As this need grows, we are ready to offer other tried-and-tested gadgets,” – said Simona Krasauskienė, CEO of NJ World.

In addition to the smartwatch, Nelly Jelly offers a range of back-to-school items, including wireless headphones, an educational game, and stationery with kids’ beloved characters. These products are designed to make the back-to-school transition smoother and more enjoyable for children.

The headphones are designed with a sound limit of 85 dB to protect a child’s hearing, preventing the volume from reaching harmful levels. They feature soft ear cushions that comfortably surround the ears without causing pressure. An integrated microphone enhances functionality, and with a full 3-hour charge, the headphones offer up to 50 hours of use.

The youngest Nelly Jelly fans have an opportunity to start their learning with an interactive electronic game Talking Cards. This game helps children learn the alphabet, colors, shapes, seasons, and kind words with a set of 112 double-sided cards with a total of 224 words.

The functionality of all Nelly Jelly devices and games matches the needs of tech-savvy modern children. For example, kids can add certain design elements to the headphones and become co-creators of the design – meeting their need for authenticity and participation in the creation process.

In Lithuania, Nelly Jelly is the leading children’s brand, celebrated for its high-quality books, theater shows, and licensed products. The brand sells over 2 million licensed products each year through 30 local partners.
