Paddington Takes Over FAO Schwarz in NYC

On the day that Paddington in Peru launches in the US, the world-famous

FAO Schwarz toy store in New York City was transformed into a Paddington paradise,

bringing the beloved bear’s latest cinematic adventure to life. As part of the grand

activation, the iconic store featured a Paddington-filled ‘swing shop’ and an eye-catching

movie-branded window display taking over the front and sides of the iconic building. The

branded pop-up inspired by Paddington’s Peruvian roots and filled with orange trees

features beautiful Paddington products from apparel and accessories to toys, plush and

stationary making the perfect souvenirs for fans of all ages.

To kick oJ the excitement, a private “Breakfast with Paddington” event was held inside

the store before it opened to the public on Saturday morning. The exclusive event

welcomed family influencers and bloggers, oJering them an unforgettable Paddington

experience complete with Paddington-themed treats, face painting, goodie bags, and a

custom photo-op with Paddington himself. A special appearance by Paddington in Peru

star Emily Mortimer also added to the magic, as she posed for photos with the guests to

support the activation.

Following the event, families were shuttled to an early screening of the film, capping oJ

the perfect ‘Paddington in New York’ day. The event garnered remarkable attention, with

family influencers reaching a combined audience of over 15 million followers.

The success of the event marked a heartwarming milestone in the celebration of

Paddington’s new film, Paddington in Peru, which is set to hit US cinemas on February 14,

2025, developed, produced by STUDIOCANAL and distributed in the US by Sony Pictures.

The film has already garnered positive reviews, with critics praising its charm and

adventure.
