Rainbow Celebrates 20th Birthday of Winx with Global Party
Thousands of fans from more than 30 countries around the world including the USA, Brazil, Poland and South Africa descended upon Rimini in Italy recently for one of the biggest events in fairydom, a huge party thrown by Rainbow to celebrate the 20th Birthday of one of the world’s best loved TV series Winx Club.
Organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Rimini, the event saw the Piazza Malatesta became the centre of Alfea for a day as dedicated fans of Winx Club fairies Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa, Aisha and Tecna pulled on their fairy wings to toast 20 years of magic, adventure and friendship.
Packed with guests and live performances, concerts, screenings, exhibitions, parades, exhibitions and, of course, Winx Club’s iconic songs, the event saw attendees swept up in a whirlwind of magic and enchantment as they celebrated the extraordinary success of the series.
A huge hit with the audience was a sneak peek at the brand-new series which is set to be released on Rai in Italy and Netflix worldwide in 2025. A preview of the completely new rebooted show was shown to the audience in Rimini to great excitement and applause.
“Every time I get so excited to meet the fans who have been following Winx Club for years and have come from all over the world just to celebrate our fairies. This is the greatest gift and satisfaction one can have: the love and affection of fans who follow us everywhere! Each of them has a pair of invisible wings, ready to take them to take flight and reach their dreams!” Iginio Straffi, creator of Winx Club, Founder of Rainbow.
With Playmates Toys and Giochi Preziosi already appointed as master toy partners for the brand, a robust merchandising programme in place for 2025 and a new set of pre-teens set to be spellbound by the vibrant new look, Winx Club is ideally-placed for dual licensing campaigns targeting a wide age range.
