Shimajiro: A World of WOW! Nominated at Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards 2020
An episode from the popular Japanese preschooler educational TV series, Shimajiro: A World of Wow! was been shortlisted in the Preschool Category, Children & Youth Division at the Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards 2020.
The episode titled Life & Survival – Living Together, Living Creatively was the only nominee from Japan in the Children & Youth Division at the awards, which celebrate the world’s best content across television and digital platforms.
Shimajiro: A World of Wow! is produced by Japan’s Benesse Corporation.
The TV series’s main star, Shimajiro, and his friends introduce content from Kodomo Challenge, Benesse Corporation’s educational and daily life skills nurturing brand for preschoolers.
The prestigious Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards has a 40-year legacy and recognizes excellence in global television and digital content. Entries from more than 45 countries each year are open to all genres including drama, non-fiction, digital, kids and youth. Winners are selected by an international industry jury of 150+ senior entertainment and media professionals. The category winners are usually announced annually at a gala event every June in Banff, Canada but this year, because of the Covid-19 situation, The Rockies Program Competition will stream live on Monday, 15 June.
