The Brand Department signs The Doodle Boy to expand his licensing offering
Joe Whale, The Doodle Boy, is a 15-year-old illustrator who is taking the world by storm with his unique
doodle and cartoon style. Celebrated for his imaginative creations, Joe draws inspiration from many
sources with artwork including food, monsters and aliens. His creative philosophy is encapsulated by his
single design rule, “there is no right or wrong in art, just interpretation”.
In his short but awe-inspiring career, Joe has collaborated with several global brands, including Nike,
Disney, Marks & Spencer, The FA and even the UK Royal Family.
Licenses have followed; Joe’s 5-part colouring book series, Bad Food, with Scholastic which is available
in major bookstores across the US and UK has sold 500k copies, and his recent children’s clothing range
with M&S sold through in under 3 months..
The Brand Department are now looking to expand The Doodle Boy’s licensing programme further, with
a particular focus on fashion, accessories and footwear, back-to-school, stationery, home interiors, and
