Toho Appoint new MD for International Licensing

Toho International has announced that Lora Cohn will be joining the company as Managing Director, International Licensing in a newly-created position.  Cohn’s role will be to expand international business operations for Toho Co., Ltd. of Japan, focusing on IP licensing and sales, based in Toho’s Los Angeles headquarters. She will be reporting to Koji Ueda, the Vice President of Toho Int.

As Managing Director, Cohn will lead the international licensing team in conducting all U.S. and international sales and marketing activities, excluding Japan, to achieve defined international sales targets and financial objectives, in line with Toho’s overall company strategy.

As a leading industry veteran, Cohn has led and executed global and domestic licensing, merchandising and sales strategies that achieved stellar revenue growth and brand awareness.  She has a depth of expertise in cultivating lasting relationships with key partners and pitching high-value partnerships for top TV and film titles. Hallmark capabilities include leveraging an in-depth understanding of key markets to develop and launch merchandise with minimal risk. She has proven herself to be a solution-oriented leader who seamlessly collaborates across departments to exceed targets.

Cohn joins Toho from The Tangent Agency where she served as Head of New Business Development and spearheaded the creative services agency’s business expansion into full-scale licensing and experiential spaces by successfully identifying and forging trust-based relationships with major entertainment, gaming, toy and music companies. Prior to that she was the Head of Global Consumer Product Sales at White Space Entertainment, a full service licensing startup agency, where she focused on the UglyDoll brand.  Previously, Cohn was at 20th Century Fox Consumer Products for over 20 years with roles spanning across Domestic and Global Consumer Products, Global Sales, Retail and Branding. She held the position of Senior Vice President, Global Sales Strategy at Fox before she departed the company.
