MIP: Toon2Tango chosen as a finalist for MIP JUNIOR pitch

Kids and family entertainment venture Toon2Tango has been selected as one of the finalists for the MIPJUNIOR Pitch PRESCHOOL, a competition that spotlights innovative children’s content projects. It takes place on 20 October during MIP JUNIOR, the pre-MIPCOM international kids screenings and co-production market.

Toon2Tango won this opportunity thanks to its endearing new project, Littlest Robot, a 3D animated series that has plenty of adventure but is also full of heart.

These are the fantastical stories of adventure and discovery of a simple little robot no bigger than a teacup. With no apparent special robot functions, it’s actually his ability to learn from his feelings (and to help his animal friends do the same in the process) that makes him so very special.

The show is set up as a co-production between Toon2Tango and V House Animation, directed by Damjan Mitrevski and written by Mark Taylor and Jo Daris.

The MIPJUNIOR Pitch PRESCHOOL (3-6) is a must-attend competition that spotlights innovative children’s content projects with strong potential for commissioning and multi-platform extension.

This competition welcomes any creator or producer eager to collaborate on preschool projects with co-production partners. It is an exceptional springboard that offers an unrivalled opportunity to present new projects to leading commissioning editors, financiers, buyers, and distributors from all over the world.

The finalists will have the privilege of pitching their projects to a prestigious jury of international decision-makers.

Toon2Tango’s CCO and Producer Jo Daris says: “Littlest Robot is not only unique in its superb CG character design work, but it also offers a very entertaining story with a loveable central character and a very important message about social and emotional feelings. We’re thrilled we have been offered this chance to highlight this distinctive and delightful show at such an important competition.”

Kids and family entertainment venture Toon2Tango comes to stand P-1.J22 at MIPCOM 2024 in Cannes in a buoyant mood. Not only does it have established hits and hotly anticipated new shows to promote but it arrives at the mother of all entertainment content markets only a few months after announcing a dream partnership that brings it closer to its goal of becoming one of the leading European animation companies as a wholly owned subsidiary of the newly founded LEONINE Animation Studios, which is owned 50% by Leonine Holding GmbH, Germany’s leading independent media company, and 50% by Toon2Tango founding partners Ulli Stoef and Jo Daris.
