Zippy and George Cook up a Treat for tonight’s Children in Need
Rainbow characters George and Zippy are picking up their potato peelers and pulling on their pinnies to take part in a special edition of MasterChef for BBC Children in Need that airs today at 7pm on BBC ONE and BBC iPlayer.
The children’s tv icons will be pulling out all the stops to impress MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace as they go head-to-head alongside other iconic puppets to see who will be crowned Puppet MasterChef Champion.
Bringing their unique brand of mayhem to the MasterChef kitchen, George and Zippy will be showing off all their culinary skills and serving up some sizzling cuisine for John and Gregg to sample.
“The MasterChef judges like to say that ‘cooking doesn’t get much tougher than this’, but they’ve clearly never seen George and Zippy let loose in a kitchen,” said Kate Schlomann, EVP, Brand and Content Marketing, Boat Rocker. “We can’t wait to see how John and Gregg manage to maintain order whilst our iconic characters tackle this culinary challenge. We’re delighted to help support this important charity.”
BBC Children in Need’s annual live appeal is on BBC One and iPlayer tonight, hosted by Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Jason Manford, Chris Ramsey, Lenny Rush and Alex Scott MBE and featuring some of the nation’s best loved stars.
Boat Rocker manages global licensing rights for Rainbow.
